On 10th March 1951,the Institute of Jute Technology was established, jointly by the University of Calcutta and Indian Jute Mill’s Association (IJMA) on a piece of land of the University of Calcutta donated by Tarak Nath Palit Trust. All the Courses have been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to University of Calcutta.
